Last month Lifeways were joined by HB Villages, Inclusion Housing and representatives from Warwickshire County Council and Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council for the official opening of Turville House, a brand new supported living development in Bedworth. We were also joined by some of the new tenants and their families.

Comprising of 16 one bedroom apartments, the development provides tenants with their own personal accommodation to meet their individual preferences, needs and requirements; with care staff available onsite 24/7 to provide support and ensure they can live as independently as possible.

Attendees on the day enjoyed a full tour of the new building and an official opening address, followed by refreshments and a celebratory cake.

Project Manager Claire Batsford said:

“Lifeways is committed to providing innovative homes for adults with a range of disabilities. Turville House delivers a safe environment with onsite care staff, while also providing a home to call their own. Tenants will be able to live as independently as possible while receiving the right support, which is the aim of all our supported living developments.

The support of the local councils for specialist supported living accommodation is the reason this scheme and others are being developed across Warwickshire. We’re delighted to be giving vulnerable people high quality, adapted, safe and settled accommodation at the same time as offering support to the meet their needs and the opportunity to increase independence.”

Alastair Sheehan, Development and Planning Director at HBV added:

“Turville House is a prime example of how specialist supported housing can make a huge difference to adults with disabilities. Having their own home, along with onsite care, means the tenants are able to live more independently and integrate into their local community.

We are proud to showcase this development as fine example of the positive outcomes that can be achieved for vulnerable people with the right kind of housing and support services.”
