Coach House opens its doors following major investment by Lifeways

A residential care service in Burton upon Trent, supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injuries, has unveiled its newly refurbished living spaces following a major investment by Lifeways. 

Lifeways' Coach House service marked the completion of the refurbishment with an open day on Wednesday (22 July), welcoming professionals, commissioners and the families of the people we support to see the improvements firsthand. 

All three residential services on the Burton site - Coach House, River Lodge and Trent View – have now been fully refurbished by Lifeways' dedicated Property Team. The work represents a £700,000 investment in the site, creating improved living environments for the people we support. 

Karen Jones, Managing Director of Lifeways' Residential Care division, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to see the refurbishment of our Coach House service completed and the vision we had for the space brought to life. 

“This marks the final refurbishment across our Burton site, representing a significant investment in creating modern, welcoming environments that support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for the people we support."

The refurbishment has significantly enhanced the property, converting it from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom home with the addition of a second bedroom and new en-suite facilities. The improvements also include a newly fitted kitchen, new windows, replastered walls, new flooring, and upgraded furniture, creating a safer and more welcoming environment. 

The renovation has also restored some of the building's original character. Suspended ceilings have been removed to reveal a beautiful timber-vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden archway, bringing more light and a greater sense of space to the home.
