In pictures: Lifeways’ Leyland residential services hold Red Nose Day bake-off – and raise £120!
Pies in the face, cakes, and desserts, and lots of fun were had for Red Nose Day last week at The Meadows and Reiver House, two adjoining Lifeways residential services in Leyland, Lancashire.
The winner of the bake-off was Nicola – seen wearing a coral-coloured dress in the pictures below – who had entered an incredible flapjack and brownies.
Several support team members came in on their days off to enter their own cakes and sweets.
In total, the two services raised £120, which has been donated to Comic Relief.

In 2022, several people we support and support team members at Reiver House and The Meadows told us what it was like live and work at these two services. Watch our video:
About Reiver House and The Meadows:
Both situated in Leyland, Lancashire, Reiver House and The Meadows support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities, and mental ill-health.
The Meadows is made up of five one-bedroom apartments, each with a wet room-style bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room.
Reiver House is a four-bedroom house with a dining room, a living room, a kitchen, a quiet room, a television room, and a laundry room.
Both residential services include accessible outdoor gardens.
