Lifeways earns royal seal of approval for commitment to learning and development

Lifeways, the UK’s largest provider of support for people with complex needs in the community, has been awarded the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for 2025.
Formally approved by HRH The Princess Royal, the award recognises Lifeways as one of just 57 organisations across the UK to be honoured this year. It highlights the company’s strong commitment to learning and development and its role in ensuring care is recognised as a career.
The recognition reflects the work of Lifeways’ Learning & Development Team in transforming its leadership training. Through the Operational Leaders' Programme, all Service Managers and Registered Managers have completed a three-month programme designed to strengthen leadership capability across the organisation.
Now in its tenth year, the Princess Royal Training Awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate outstanding dedication to employee learning and development. Lifeways is proud to be recognised and to receive this respected standard.
Previous recipients of the award include John Lewis & Partners, JCB and OVO Energy, with Lifeways now joining the ranks as a leading brand in the social care sector.
James Westwood-Beere, Chief People Officer at Lifeways, said: “The Princess Royal Training Award for 2025 really demonstrates our outstanding commitment to learning and development, and the positive impact it has had on both our organisation and our people.
“I am so proud that we’ve received this recognition - this is news that everyone at Lifeways should share and celebrate.
“It’s a milestone year for the awards, which mark their tenth anniversary and HRH’s 75th birthday, so we’re especially proud to receive this accreditation in our 30th year.”
Lifeways will be formally presented with the award at a celebration ceremony in London on December 2, 2026.
