Lifeways finalists set to shine at the National Learning Disability Awards 2025

We’re proud to announce more award success! Four incredible people and services from Lifeways have been shortlisted for the prestigious National Learning Disability Awards 2025.
The awards celebrate excellence in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, and we’re thrilled to see our people recognised for their passion, impact, and commitment to those we support.
Lifeways is the UK’s biggest provider of support for people with complex needs in the community, with specialisms in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Here are our amazing finalists:
Breaking Down Barriers Award – Reevylands Drive, Bradford
The team at Reevylands Drive has shown outstanding dedication in supporting two people to improve their verbal communication skills. Using Widgit symbols, images, and repetitive speech, they’ve helped both people build vocabulary and express their needs more clearly. This personalised approach has empowered them to communicate with confidence, enhancing both independence and quality of life. The team’s creativity, patience and commitment clearly show the power of tailored support in transforming lives.
The Manager Award – Katy Jennings, Service Manager, Somerset
Over the past 12 months, Katy has worked exceptionally hard to get to know all the people we support at the service. She quickly stepped up to assist while the Registered Manager supported another service and has consistently maintained a high standard of care. Katy continues to provide strong support for both the people we support and her team, maintaining excellent communication with families and professionals. She is a huge asset to the service.
Making a Difference Award – Kevin Shields, Person We Support
Kevin is a dedicated and inspiring person we support who balances full-time work at Asda with an active role in co-production. As a Quality Checker, he supports managers in service checks and helps deliver training across areas including Halifax, Doncaster and Nottingham. Kevin also plays a key role in recruitment, taking part in interviews and even making job offer calls. His involvement sends a powerful message about the importance of including the people we support in shaping services from the very beginning.
Senior Manager Award – Estella Dick, Regional Operations Manager, North East
Estella is an exceptional area manager whose professionalism, empathy and dedication inspire her team. She creates a positive working environment through clear communication, regular team meetings and a focus on shared goals. Passionate about continuous improvement, she organises tailored training to boost skills and morale. Estella champions co-production by actively involving the people we support in shaping services. Her leadership - rooted in kindness, support and forward-thinking - empowers her team and drives meaningful, lasting impact.
Andrea Kinkade, CEO of Lifeways, said: “Good luck to all our amazing finalists, and thank you for everything you do. We’re proud to see your efforts recognised on the national stage.”
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 4 July 2025 in Birmingham.
