Located in a semi-rural area in North Walsham, Norfolk, St Thomas House will be in an ideal location for accessing the local community and close to local shops, amenities and transport links.
Developed in partnership with Norfolk County Council, St Thomas House is a brand new development comprising of 16 self-contained apartments with 12 apartments designed to support people with low-level support requirements, and a further four apartments designed to support people with high-level needs and physical disabilities. Support staff will be available onsite 24/7 to provide tailored support that reflects each person’s individual needs and wishes. The development will offer a spacious communal area for people to enjoy including a lounge and dining area.
As well as having the right setting for individuals with support needs, we’re building a team of highly trained staff to help people live fulfilling lives, and we are recruiting healthcare professionals for this service. The team at St Thomas House will embrace an outcome-focussed and person-centred philosophy in order to help individuals to develop their skills and confidence within their home and the wider community.
Will Obourne, Community Engagement & Development Manager, said “We have worked in partnership with Norfolk County Council to develop this service in response to demand for this type of bespoke care in the local area. We’ve tried to create bright and modern homes which are fully equipped to be accessible to all and can be tailored to meet the individual needs of the people we support. The new service and the team will provide support which is outcome-focussed and person-centred, encouraging individuals to become as independent as possible. We’re extremely excited to be taking the next step on our journey and look forward to working with Norfolk County Council.”
