Norfolk supported living service rated ‘Good’ after first inspection
A supported living service for people with learning disabilities and autism in Norfolk is celebrating an excellent outcome following its first inspection.
Lifeways Community Care Limited (Norfolk) - the registration covering our St Thomas House service - has received an overall ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after inspectors visited the service earlier this year.
Inspectors found that the service met the principles of the regulator’s right support, right care, right culture guidance, where the people we support are protected from abuse and harm, service quality is regularly monitored and reviewed, and staff are kind, caring, and listen to the people they support.
Amy Gilbert, Managing Director of Lifeways’ Supported Living division, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the latest CQC rating for Lifeways Community Care Limited (Norfolk).
“As this is the first inspection for the registration, achieving a ‘Good’ rating is a fantastic foundation to build on. I’d like to thank our dedicated team for their continued commitment to delivering excellent care and support to people across Norfolk - we’re excited to keep improving and making a difference every day.”
Following the inspection, the service was rated ‘Good’ in all five areas assessed by the CQC - safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
With support from staff, inspectors spoke with one person who lives at St Thomas House, who was particularly positive about the food choices and praised the staff. They also spoke with a relative who was very positive about the care their loved one receives.
Lifeways Community Care Limited (Norfolk) provides support for up to 16 adults living in their own apartments, although only three were receiving personal care at the time of inspection.
