Rose Meadow service achieves ‘Good’ ratings across the board from CQC
Lifeways’ Rose Meadow residential service has been awarded ‘Good’ ratings across all areas assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.
Inspectors’ observations showed people at the Misterton, Nottinghamshire service for adults with learning disabilities and autism knew staff and leaders well, felt confident engaging with them and overall were positive about the quality of their care following the February inspection.
Karen Jones, Managing Director of Lifeways’ Residential Care division, said: “We’re incredibly proud of this latest CQC report for Rose Meadow.
“A great deal of work has gone into strengthening the service and it’s fantastic to see those efforts recognised so quickly.
“Thank you to the whole team for their continued dedication and hard work - this rating reflects the commitment they show every day to supporting the people who live at Rose Meadow.”
Previously, the service had an overall ‘Good’ rating, with ‘Good’ in the areas of safety, effectiveness, caring and responsiveness, but a ‘Requires Improvement’ rating for how well-led it was. All five areas are now rated ‘Good’.
Family members of people supported at Rose Meadow were also complimentary, with one saying: “Yes, [relative is safe], very much so.” Another added: “[Name] is well looked after.”
The service recently benefited from a £250,000 refurbishment by Lifeways, transforming the building into a modern, accessible home while retaining its distinctive mock Tudor character and designing spaces around the needs of the people supported.
As part of the refurbishment, ornate ceiling features were restored, and several bedrooms were redecorated with unique themes reflecting residents’ interests, from Harry Potter to the Royal Family.
