For Care Home Open Week, held from 24-30 June, Lifeways' residential services across the country hosted parties featuring delicious food and drinks, live music, and party games!

Care Home Open Week is an annual event that celebrates the valuable contributions of care homes to society and promotes transparency, understanding, and engagement within the care sector.

At Lifeways, the week was also an opportunity to bring people together to have fun in a rare week of sunshine.

This year is the first time Lifeways celebrated Care Home Open Week as a supporter member of the Care Workers’ Charity, one of the leading organisations behind the week.

Since its founding in 2009, the Care Workers’ Charity has helped more than 10,000 care workers with crisis grants. The charity also has a Mental Health Support Programme, which offers care workers free mental health treatment with qualified therapists.

Of around 4,000 people supported by Lifeways, over 500 people live in our 53 residential care homes across the country.  Our residential services are separate from our supported living services, who support people in generally less intensive settings.

Lifeways is currently in a three-year plan to invest in and refurbish our residential services. We are currently working at pace to deliver on these projects. Check out on LinkedIn a video of our latest refurbishment, carried out over nine months at Millwater, one of Birmingham residential services!
