Who we support
SIL specialises in providing effective, outcome-based, community recovery services for people severely affected by mental illness. With a particular specialism in personality disorders and people on forensic pathways, our primary focus is on supporting individuals in long-term hospital placements, medium/low secure settings, and other institutional environments to transition back into their home communities.

Individuals referred to SIL will typically come with backgrounds that include many of the following diagnoses and ancillary factors:
Our service users
Many of our service users have a combination of high-risk behaviours, offences and fire setting history. As such, there is inevitably a significant degree of cross-over in the statistics highlighted below:
• 28% have committed a significant offence, such as sexual assault; murder; violent incident, (e.g. aggravated robbery).
• 33% of people supported have a ministry of Justice history, the vast majority have continued restrictions under s41 of the Mental Health Act
• 33% have a fire setting history
