The Paddocks praised for person-centred care as it retains ‘Good’ CQC rating

A Lifeways Residential Care service near Lincoln has retained its 'Good' rating across all areas assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection. 

Inspectors praised the Lifeways team at The Paddocks for its person-centred culture, noting that staff demonstrated a clear understanding of the service’s values and a strong commitment to supporting people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. 

Karen Jones, Managing Director of Lifeways’ Residential Care division, said: “We’re delighted that The Paddocks has once again been recognised by the CQC with a positive report and a 'Good' rating across all areas. 

“This report is a testament to the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our team, who work tirelessly to create a safe, welcoming and person-centred environment where the people we support can thrive. We’re incredibly proud of what they have achieved. 

“At Lifeways, we’re committed to helping people live meaningful and fulfilling lives, and it’s fantastic to see that commitment recognised through such a positive inspection report.” 

The CQC assessed the service across five key areas – Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led – with The Paddocks retaining its 'Good' rating in each category. The service was previously rated 'Good' across all four areas at its inspection in August 2019. 

The report found that people supported at The Paddocks appeared happy, relaxed and comfortable in the company of staff, smiling and engaging positively with inspectors throughout their visit. 

Inspectors also highlighted the team’s compassionate approach, noting that when people were at risk of becoming distressed, staff recognised the early signs and responded calmly, patiently and reassuringly. 

The report stated: “One person said they were ‘safe and happy here, thank you.’ Another person gave a big smile, a thumbs-up sign and responded, ‘Yes,’ when asked if they liked living at The Paddocks.” 

Part of our wider Heath Farm site, The Paddocks supports people with autism and learning disabilities. The service features a seven-bedroom bungalow, a one-bedroom apartment, an accessible garden with a patio area, and an outdoor gym, providing a range of spaces designed to promote people’s comfort, independence and wellbeing.
